When I went out to feed this afternoon, I was hoping to capture a picture of my beautiful BO on her clutch. But as soon as she saw me, she knew it was feeding time an got off her clutch so she could grab a few grains of food and water for sustenance.
Here is her clutch of eggs.
And here she is front and center (the blonde) grabbing a quick snack before she sits back on her eggs.
I hope to be posting chick pics soon.
How many more days till we should see bebe bo's do you think? She really is a pretty gal. BTW, did the other hen come out from under the porch?
ReplyDeleteHerdog, I'm thinking we should have chicks this week. It takes 21-23 days and it has been 2-2 1/2 weeks since she started being broody. And yes, well, the RI Red didn't come out from under the porch, DH had to get a broom handle and shoo her out from under there and there was still snow on the ground, but she made a beeline for the chicken pen and she was so excited to see her old buddies again. She was making such a fuss when she made it back to the others, it was comical.
ReplyDeleteGlad she is back out from under the porch! Mine won't even come out of the pen if there is snow on the ground - they don't like to get their pretty feet wet! Don't forget to post pics of the new babies!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Phyllis, I will post pics for sure!
